LAGOS JANUARY 31ST (URHOBOTODAY)-Senator representing Delta Central Senatorial District, Senator Ovie Omo-Agege has appealed to Urhobos who have positive ideas to come forward for any necessary assistant for further development.
The Senator who spoke just after he took his oath of office as a Senator of the Federal Rrepublic of Nigeria said he would run an open-door policy in the senate, adding that because expectations are huge, he would only spend his time and resources on issues that will visibly impact good governance in Urhoboland.
According to him, “We have no time to waste on unproductive distractions. Every Urhobo professional is in my radar. Our duty is to help our children, students, market women, artisans and indeed all our people. To succeed, we need everyone with competence to come forward. We need ideas from everyone. No time for quarrels. I trust God who has brought us this far to help us succeed.”
The Senator who thanked Olorogun Great Ogboru, the entire leadership of Labour Party and everyone who stood firm for the realization of the political will of the people of Urhobo, admonished leaders and members of Labour Party, friends and political supporters in other parties and across the political spectrum to see his senate victory as a victory for all Urhobos and Delta Central residents.
He noted that, “Despite the unnecessary and unjust delay in our taking our rightful position, we must put the word of God in action now, more than ever before. We must forgive ourselves in the face of God’s justice which we are all now beneficiaries. We cannot as God’s children treat our people as strangers or outsiders in this new political dawn given to us by grace. We are one people. Let us unite to bring real benefits to our land.”
