LAGOS AUGUST 2ND (URHOBOTODAY)-Former Secretary to the Delta State Government (SSG) and Delta State Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) Governorship aspirant in 2015 general election, Obaisi Ovie Omo-Agege has called on private individuals from all walks of life in the state to join hands with the state government to provide quality education in the state.
He said the state can become the best state in terms of standard educational quality delivery in the country if private individuals invest in the educational system of the state.
The Delta state People Democratic Party (P.D.P) governorship aspirant made the call on Friday during the 15th prize giving/graduation ceremony of Marvel International School Ughell in Ughelli North L.G.A. of Delta state.
The former S.S.G who was the Chairman of the occasion, specially thanked the Proprietor of the school DIG Mavel Akpoyibo (Rtd) for creating an avenue where world class educational students are been
produced.
Tasking other individuals in the state to emulate Retired DIG Marvel Akpoyibo for producing educational facilities that can facilitate effective learning in the state, Omo-Agege maintained that investment in the educational system would ensure that more intellectual individuals are produced in the state.
His words “I am very happy that noble men like DIG Marvel Akpoyibo have created this great educational medium to develop the society by providing quality education to these young ones. I would like to call on more individuals to emulate him by building quality educational centers to develop the leaders of tomorrow. If individuals can help the government in providing quality education for our children, then we shall have a better society to live in.”
Omo-Agege said although it is the duty of the government to provide education for the citizens of the state, private individuals can also lend a helping hand because the government cannot do it
alone.
“I know that, it is the responsibility of the government to provide quality and affordable education to the people. It is however, not out of place for individuals with the resources to help government to provide quality education for the people to do so. Helping in providing education to the people is a service to God and all service to God are always rewarded by God”
He congratulated the graduating students and asked them to always be of good conduct.
