LAGOS JULY 10TH (URHOBOTODAY)-As Delta State Governor, Dr Ifeanyi Okowa celebrates his fifty seven years birthday, the immediate past Chairman of Udu Local Government Council of Delta State and member Board of Delta Development and Property Authority (DDPA), Chief Raymond Edijala has described him as a great visionary administrator.
Speaking with Airport Correspondents on his arrival at Muritala Mohammed International Airport from United Kingdom where he attended a conference on organizational behavior, Edijala disclosed that Okowa’s successful implementation of his SMART Agenda in the face of low revenue receipts is legendary which had put him ahead of other governors.
He added that the Agenda did not only touch on the lives of people of Delta State, it had also conformed with the United Nation’s eight characteristics of good governance which are consensus oriented, participatory, following the rule of law, effectiveness and efficiency, accountability, transparency, responsiveness and equitability and inclusiveness.
He maintained that in Okowa’s steady progress as visionary leader those who knew him a long time ago would testify to how he rode on the back of humility through all his professional and political career to his present status as Governor of Delta State.
Wishing the Governor and his family happy prosperity years ahead as he celebrates his birthday, the former local government Chairman stressed that Nigerians need politicians with the caliber of Okowa who are willing and able to rise above their selfish interests, or the particular interests of their political parties or states and act in accord with the fundamental interests of today’s humanity.
He called on all Deltans to support Okowa’s administration and pray for his him and his family.
“Through trials and tribulations, through intellectual peregrinations and political vicissitudes, he has displayed love in hateful circumstances; faith where there is doubt, hope in times of despair, light in darkness and joy in sadness. He has been an instrument of peace even with all of his foibles and frailties. He is a true exemplar of progressive politics, decency and decorum. Happy birthday Boss,” he stated.
