LAGOS DECEMBER 29TH (URHOBOTODAY)-The Appeal Court ruling of the legal battle between the people’s Democratic Party, (PDP), and the opposition parties on the 2015 gubernatorial election which brought in Senator (Dr) Ifeanyi Arthur Okowa to government has continued to generate reactions among political interests in the state as the people of Ndokwa had added their voice congratulating the governor and the party for the victory.
At an Open-Air Interdenominational Service head over the weekend at, Obiaruku, the administrative headquarters of Ukwuani Local Government Area for elected and appointed political office holders from Ndokwa in Delta state, the decision was described as the best Christmas gift to the people of Delta state.
The Executive Director, Social services Development, on the board of the Delta State Oil Producing Areas Development Commission, (DESOPADEC), Hon Ochor Chris Ochor said that the victory was from God, and he should be giving the glory for the victory.
Hon Ochor, emphasized that despite all the tricks before the ruling, the Governor, and the party still came out victorious, and what it means is that the election of Senator Ifeanyi Okowa as the Executive Governor was a divine one, as the ruling has vindicated him and the party.
The DESOPADEC Director, called on the opposition to come forward and join with the government of Dr. Ifeanyi Okowa to move the state forward.
Speaking in same vain, the Executive Assistant to the governor on Religious Matters, Bishop Greatman Nmalagu, said that the victory clearly shows that God is behind that state, and is fully in support of the election of Senator Ifeanyi Okowa.
“The victory clearly shows that God is behind Delta state, and that God is fully in support of the leadership of His Excellency, Senator Ifeanyi Okowa, because when God gives someone any particular position, the evidence of it is that he stands with you”.
“He make sure nothing evil happens to you, temptations may come, trials may come but he make sure there is an escape route”. He added.
And for the Delta state Commissioner for Water Resources, Chief Fidelis Okenmor Tillije, the victory was not a surprised one, it was expected, as he said that he had had personal working experience with the three of Otega Emerhor, Great Ogboru and Ifeanyi Okowa, in trying to bring the needed change in the state and of the three Okowa stands out among the crowd, as Okowa is chosen by God to lead the state.
“These three people, Okowa is Chosen by God because of his past and because of his heart, and I can tell any person who cares to listen that Okowa is the best”. He said.
Others who spoke and hailed the judgement as a Christmas gift for Deltans were Dame Esther Uduehi, a former aide to the President of Nigeria, Pharm Paul Enebeli, PG Ndokwa Neku Union (NNU) and a former senator of the Federal Republic, Senator Patrick Okowa.
