Aggrieved youths of the ruling People’s Democratic Party, PDP, in Delta State, have threatened to decamp to the All Progressives Congress, APC, over their alleged maltreatment and marginalisation by the leadership of PDP in the state.
The party’s youths, led by Mr. Alex Umokoro, under the aegis of Delta PDP Youths Forum, yesterday in Warri, also expressed dissatisfaction that they were been abandoned and neglected by the party, adding that in 2015, they would ensure PDP was voted out of power.
The youths said that they are the strength of the party that should not be treated with disdain, adding, “We are displeased with the poor handling of the party’s affairs in Delta State, where majority of our members are aggrieved and are silently hobnobbing with the opposition party APC.”
The youths appealed to the national chairman of the party to urgently prevail on the leadership of party in the state to reconcile all aggrieved youths of the party in order to prevent their defection to APC and subsequent crumbling of the party in 2015.
“Due to the incompetence and poor handling of the party’s affairs by the current leadership, we have lost confidence in the party which is the rationale behind our moving to APC, where we shall be recognised, appreciated and adequately rewarded for our efforts,” they said
