Delta Youths Decry abduction of Urhobo Leader, Strategise on Ending Menace
LAGOS JANAURY 28TH (URHOBOTODAY)-The leadership of Urhobo Progress Union (UPU) Youth Wing, Comrade Igho Ovie Anthony, has condemned the kidnap of the President General of Udu Kingdom, Chief Steve Sokoh which occurred last week Thursday 22, January 2015 along DSC express way.
The youths who condemned the act of criminality told Urhobotoday that there are plans underway to put an end to the issue of kidnapping in Urhobo land stressing that kidnapping is not in the life style of true Urhobo sons and daughters.
Addressing press men on the issue, the Public Relations officer of the body, Comrade Marcus Ekure described the act as abominable, utterly capricious and potentially damaging to the Urhobo youths.
He described Sokoh as a perfect gentle man and distinguished Urhobo patriot with passion for high standard, who has relentlessly, remained committed to the course of youth empowerment, human capital and community development in Urhobo land and as such, do not deserve this the kind of experience in Urhobo land.
Urging the adopters to see to his immediate release, Marcus described the incidence as a pain and challenge to Urhobo youths generally, adding that all hands should be on deck to ensure Sokoh is released unhurt and without a ransom within the shortest possible time.
Speaking further on the evil of kidnapping, Marcus added that the UPU Youth wing has plans underway to put an end to the issue of kidnapping in Urhobo land stressing that kidnapping is not in the life style of true Urhobo sons and daughters.
