LAGOS MAY 10TH (URHOBOTODAY)-Ijaw leaders of Delta State Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) precisely from Burutu local government area of Delta state has rejected the arbitrary imposition of Emmanuel Agbaduba on them as the Chairman of PDP Delta South Senatorial District by the Deputy Governor of Delta State, Barr Kingsley Otuaro.
The Burutu leaders which include Hon T.Y Biakpara, former member of House of Representative, Hon Frank Nikorogha, Hon Asupa Forteta and Barr.( Alhaji) Isa Clark among others informed Urhobotoday an online medium that they met the outgoing Delta state PDP Secretary, Mr. Uzor to register their greviances against the imposition of Agbaduba on Burutu people without following due process, adding that they are taking their protest to Delta State Governor, Dr Ifeanyi Okowa on Tuesday morning.
The Head of the Burutu Leaders, Hon T.Y Biakpara said they are resisting the imposition of Agbaduba as the PDP South Senatorial District Chairman because the position had been zoned to Burutu Federal constituency.
He said it is unwise and unheard of that Otuaro who is from another local government area of Delta is imposing a candidate in an area he did not come from, adding that the annoying thing is that he is doing it with impunity.
According to him, “We Burutu leaders felt it is undemocratic for Delta Deputy Governor. It is wrong for Kingsley Otuaro to impose or foist a candidate on the Burutu people because of his support for a factional group.
“The Deputy Governor is not from Burutu LGA. The position is zoned to Burutu South, but not Burutu North.. Emmanuel Agbaduba is from Burutu North, ward 9, where Delta State Commissioner for Youth Devepment, Hon. Peter Asupa Forteta came from. Also, the newly elected PDP chairman for Burutu LGA EXCO is from ward 9. It will be unfair to for the Deputy Governor to rob us of our slot.
“We vehemently resist the fanatical attitude of the Deputy Governor, Barr. Kingsley Otuaro. He has done it with impunity. We are going to the meet Delta State Governor, Senator Ifeanyi Okowa today (Tuesday 10th) to register our grievances.”
