Delta: Residents Lament Increase in Fuel Price, Return of Queues to Warri Filling Stations
LAGOS NOVEMBER 4TH (URHOBOTODAY)-Residents of Warri, Delta State are lamenting the return of queue to petrol stations in Warri, Asaba and its environs, as the pump price of premium motor spirit (PMS) sells between N120 and N150 naira.
Residents of the rich oil city have been witnessing what the public described as panic buying since Thursday last week. The situation was same last weekend as motorists were made to queue for some hours at petrol stations.
Our correspondent who visited some petrol stations in Warri and Effurun, reports that while there are queues in some major filling stations, others witness seamless buying.
Miss Peter Oke, a fuel attendant at MRS Filling station opposite Shell Ramp, Warri, told our reporters that there is no scarcity of PMS in Warri and environs as they are still selling at the approved pump price N87.00.
When asked why she was not selling at about 9:am, when our crew visited, she said “I don’t have anything to say about scarcity of fuel because we have fuel for sale. We are waiting instructions from our manager first before we start.
Another respondent, Mr. Francis Mmadu, Manager, Forte Oil located along Okumagba Avenue, Warri, affirmed that there is scarcity of fuel hence; the queues coming up every day, adding that it has affected their business.
