Delta Police Kill Four Armed Robbers in Warri Daylight Gun Battle

LAGOS SEPTEMBER 27TH (URHOBOTODAY)-No fewer than four suspected armed robbers were reportedly killed yesterday afternoon during a gun duel with Delta police in Warri, Delta State.
According to report monitored in Ossai Ovie Success’s facebook page, the incident occurred at the Okere-Ajamimogha axis of Warri.
Urhobotoday learnt that the suspected armed bandits who allegedly robbed a church at Cemetery road, Warri, earlier in the same day were driving towards Okere-Ajamimogha road when a team of mobile policemen sighted and follow them.
In course of their attempt to escape from the police, the Volkswagen Jetta saloon car used by the hoodlums hit a streetlight pole at Ajamimogha road and this gave the police the opportunity to catch up with them.
Shop owners closed their shops, while commuters scampered for safety as a result of the gun battle that ensured between the police and the robbers. After an hour when sound of gun shots must have died down, four corpses of the suspected robbers were seen lying on the street.
Warri Area Command, ACP Mohammed Muazu, who confirmed the incident, said some arms and ammunition which include two locally made double barrel cut-to-size and six live cartridges were recovered from the hoodlums.
