DELTA ELECTION UPDATE: Ogboru Calms Fray of Ughelli Election Result Protesters (PHOTOS)

LAGOS MATCH 31ST (URHOBOTODAY)-No fewer than 800 youths took to the street of Ughelli yesterday protesting alleged attempt by some people to manipulate the election result at Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) collation centre in Ughelli, Delta State.
The youths who were singing war songs and saying no to manipulation of election result moved from Post Road to the junction linking the round -about at Isoko road were they spread to other streets of the town.
They made burn fire on the road, blocking it with waste to prevent motorist from plying the ones busy road.
For the period the protest lasted business activities were paralysed at the vicinity as shop owners immediate closed their shops with motorists moving towards that direction changing their route to avoid molestation.
Although, the reason for the immediate protest could not be ascertain, but further investigation by URHOBOTODAY Ughelli correspondent revealed that the youths are protesting against alleged perceive manipulation of Delta Central Senatorial and House of Representative election results.
They warned that the result should not be tempered with in any form, stressing that they should be left the way they were brought in from their different wards.
The angry Youths alleged that there were strong indications that the ruling party and its candidates were trying to manipulate the result of the senatorial and house of Representative elections to their favour having known that they had lost in the election ground.
Shooting of tear gas and gun shot by security agencies could not dispatch the protesting youths not until the arrival of Delta State Labour Party Governorship candidate, Chief Great Ogboru who enjoined the youths to shield their swords to allow peace reign in the election.















That is Nigeria for you. PDP thinks things will always go their way as usual by writing bogus figures in connivance corrupt INEC and election return officers and telling the aggrieved opposition parties to go to election tribunal because they have money and government apparatus to outwit them. Those days are gone, a new government will be steering the affairs of the country come May 29th. It’s casuistry, campy and charade for the INEC and the Return officer to manipulate elections in Delta in favour of Chief Ighoyowveta Amori of PDP. This not a business as usual, they will prove on how they arrived at those figures.
