8 Students Killed as Rival Cultists Group Ravage University of Benin

LAGOS JUNE 19TH(URHOBOTODAY) No fewer than eight students of University of Benin were alleged to have been killed as two rival cult group clash. The rival cult groups are Black Axe and Eiye Confraternity.
Urhobotoday reliably gathered that what led to the clash was that two students from the two different cults group were fighting over a girl which led to the killing of an Eiye member during a birthday party held in Aso Rock hostel located inside Ekosodin community outside the school campus
.
This incident according to our sour happened early May before the first semester exams. After the killing of Eiye cultist, the school has not known peace as Eiye cultist members went on revenge killing.
On June 13th a student Evans Ekohodo, a final year student of the Department of Linguistics, who was the chief of the Kegites club, UNIBEN chapter, was shot in the head at Osasogie, an off campus location of the university. The student was said to have got the best result in 1001 level.
Another student simply identified as Snazzy a 200-level Mathematics student was shot in the neck in the university main campus at Ugbowo during a biometric verification exercise right in front of students.
The gun man was reported to have dropped his gun after the act and started running with the crowd also running in different direction for fear of being attacked .The dead student was identified as Snazzy.
According to our source, other students who have been killed since the clash started have not been identified, adding that there have been killings in town and also inside the school with more of the killing done inside Ekosodin community outside the school.
Urhobotoday source revealed that the dead Snazzy and Osasogie are members Eiye Confraternity, adding that they have only killed one Black Axe member, making the score 7-1 which is the parlance of describing victory among the students.
According to report monitored by our correspondent in the school, the school security are trying to safe guard only students inside the school, while those in off campus are left on their own.

  1. Ekosodin still tops my list of one of the best places i have stay. Having graduated from the university of Benin, I stay at JB street…back then e no easy at all esp during 7-7 periods. Everything you shared here is a deep truth. I read this over 5 time retrospecting my days in almighty Uniben. Shaiiiiiiii
