WARRI: A suspected armed robber has been set ablaze at Estate Roundabout in Okumagba layout by the community vigilante shortly after he and his gang member robbed an unidentified pregnant woman of a Toyota Camry car along Airport road in Warri.
An eyewitness said the two man robbery gang shot the pregnant woman on the womb before navigating their way through Total Filling Station along Okumagba Avenue with the stolen Toyota Camry car. Unknown to them, motorcyclists who witnessed the robbery incident trailed them to Estate and raised alarm which attracted members of Okere – Urhobo vigilante, who immediately swung into action.
In a failed escape bid, one of the robbers opened the door on the right hand side of the car and jumped out, while his accomplice was double crossed and forced out of the car. They were given the beating of their life. But when the news filtered in that the woman whom they earlier shot was dead, one of the suspected armed robbers was quickly set ablaze, while his accomplice managed to run to the “B” Division of Nigeria Police Station in Warri.
Found in their possession was a locally made pistol.
