Urhobo Youths Hail Buhari’s Victory, Recommend Jonathan for ‘Nobel Laureate’ Award
LAGOS APRIL 3RD (URHOBOTODAY)-The apex Urhobo Youth Body Worldwide, The Urhobo Progress Union (UPU), Youth Wing has congratulated the President elect Gen. Muhammad Buhari (rtd) over his outstanding victory in the just concluded elections.
In a press statement signed by the spokesman of the body, Com. Marcus Ovovwero Ekure he described the election as the freest, fairest and most credible election that Nigeria has ever had. Expressing confidence in Gen. Buhari’s capacity to deliver on his manifesto, he described the president-elect as an exemplary leader with exceptional qualities, impeccable pedigree and antecedence.
Meanwhile he commended the show of sportsmanship displayed by the incumbent president, His Excellency Goodluck Ebele Jonathan saying that it takes only a selfless and visionary leader to concede defeat especially in Africa. He however recommended that Jonathan Goodluck be considered for a Nobel Laureate award and a lifetime ambassador of the United Nations and African Union so as to rank among the likes of Nelson Mandela of South Africa.
forgive me but we’re these not the same set of people professing undying love for GEJ earlier? If so, they are shameless hypocrites and should be silent. The Nobel prize is not for incompetent people. GEJ is very unsuitable for it and never remembers those who work hard for him. In the first election, we voted heavily for him as a people and what did we get for it? Nothing! How many govt. projects were commissioned by him in the whole of Urhoboland for the six years he was in office? How many billionaires did he create in urhoboland? He was only looked after his Ijaw people and militants and they just bully other tribes in Delta. Now that GEJ is gone, I jaws should humble themselves. With GEJ’s failure, Niger-Delta lost a great chance to improve the lot of the Niger-Delta people. In view of this change I strongly urge UPU to close ranks and support APC to win Delta. That is the only way Urhobos can recover their lost glory otherwise, Urhobo will go into political bondage for the next four years. Our mumu don do. As for Ogboru, he should be like Tinubu and step down for O’tega. He can then become a true godfather of the state and wield great political influence. He should forget this governorship thing, even GMB had to change and get new alliance before he could win on his fourth attempt. Ogboru has not, in my humble opinion, done anything new in terms of new alliances in order to win this time around. He is still in small and insignificant party with no meaningful party structure or political influence and this is what he wants to sell to us as the answer to our collective political marginalization. That would be political 419. Oghene biko, awa ri di mumu. All Urhobo must mobilize heavily for APC and win if we want to smile again and be relevant politically in Nigeria, may the Good Lord help us, urhobo wadooooo!
