LAGOS MARCH 26TH (URHOBOTODAY)-An Urhobo socio-political organization, Urhobo Political Movement has endorsed President Goodluck Jonathan re-election for second term.
Members of the group which cut across nine local government areas in Delta State converged at Ughelli on Thursday where they unanimously adopted President Goodluck Jonathan as their sole candidate in Saturday presidential election.
Ironically, those who spoke in the occasion who gave their full support to Jonathan were silent about other Peoples Democratic Party candidates contesting election in other categories.

Speaking in the occasion, Chairman of Delta Elders, Leaders and Stakeholders Forum, Chief Godwin Ogbetuo pointed out that they were celebrating because Goodluck Jonathan had already won the election billed to hold on Saturday.
He said Jonathan deserve second term because he had performed creditably well in agricultural, economic, aviation, railway, infrastructural development, construction of roads and education sectors among other.
“After all these lofty achievements, we should give him another term to build on the achievements,” Ogbetuo appealed to the large audience who responded affirmatively.
He enjoined Urhobos to vote for Jonathan, adding that in his second coming, the President would revamp Delta Steel Complex, create Anioma State which will automatically lead to creation of full fledged Delta State made of Urhobos.
Ogbetuo pointed out that if Yorubas, Igbos and other tribes are yelling for Jonathan second coming, Urhobos should not be left out.
He urged Urhobos to give Jonathan 100 percent of their votes, adding that if he wins, he would respond to their requests in the nearest future.
Delta State PDP bigwig, Chief Solomon Edoja who described the gathering as a happy one advised Urhobos to cast their votes for Jonathan enmass, adding that after Jonathan’s winning of Saturday’s election they would do what Urhobo nation want them to do about other candidates.
“We cannot suffer in our land. Our partnership with Jonathan is partnership in progress. We have a destination and we must arrive there,” he vowed.
Giving reasons why Urhobo must cast their votes for Jonathan, Delta State Oil Producing Areas Development Commission (DESOPADEC) Commissioner representing Ughelli North, Ethiope-East and Ughelli South and Chairman of Urhobo Political Movement, Chief Ominimini Obiuwevbi promised that Urhobo will give Jonathan one million votes because the President has performed creditably well in all sectors of the country. He appealed to Urhobos to come out enmass and ensure that Jonathan become victorious.
