Uduaghan Finishing Strong with Commissioning of Several Road Projects

LAGOS FEBRUARY 13TH (URHOBOTODAY)-Few months to the end of his administration, Delta State Governor, Dr. Emmanuel Eweta Uduaghan is abiding by his slogan of ‘finishing strong’ as evidence in his continuous commissioning of projects in the state.
The latest is the commissioning of the 13km Aradhe-Ushie-Ashaka-Aboh located in Isoko North and Ndokwa East LGA of Delta state.
Efforts are also in top gear to commission the section B of the Asaba-Ughelli dualization project before the end of his tenure.

While commissioning the road project recently, Uduaghan commended indigenes of the communities for their understanding and support to contractors executing projects in the State, saying that their cooperation had aided the successful completion of the project.
He noted that such collaborative efforts by host communities had enhanced the delivery of dividends of democracy by government.
The Governor assured the indigenes of Aradhe community that the contractor handling the rehabilitation of Aradhe Grammar School would be recalled back to site next week, adding that his failure to resume work would result in re-awarding the project to another contractor.
The Governor also used the occasion to drum support for all PDP candidates in the March General Elections. He specifically called on the good people of Isoko Nation to ensure they vote PDP candidates in all the elections.
Earlier in his welcome address, the Executive Chairman of Isoko North Local Government Hon. Emmanuel Egbabor appreciated the State Government for the construction of the road which he noted has increased the economic status of the good people of Aradhe and Ushie communities.
In his remarks the Hon. Commissioner of works Hon. Funkekeme Solomon represented by the Permanent Secretary Ministry of Works Engr. D. A. Umukoro, said the construction of the road is an effort is aimed at integrating the hinterlands with the urban areas which underscores the attention, zeal and the extent to which the three point agenda of the Governor is being vigorously pursued.
According to the Commissioner, the road was awarded in July 2010 to an indigenous contractor at a cost of N1.95 billion. Hon. Funkekeme lauded the State Governor for encouraging indigenous capacity building while commending the contractor for doing a good job.
The commissioning ceremony was attended by Executive Chairman of Isoko North Local Government Hon. Emmanuel Egbabor, his vice Hon. Anthony Odhe, Chief Godwill Obielum, Member Representing Ndokwa East in the Delta State House of Assembly Hon. Friday Osanebi, Vice Chairman of Ndokwa East Local Government Hon. Dickson Okonta, some members of the State Executive Council including Commissioner for Special Infrastructures Pharm. Patrick Ferife, Hon. Charles Emetulu, members of the Isoko North Legislative arm among others.
