Uduaghan Bails Quadruplets with N.5m as Delta Hospital Denies Allegation of Seizure
LAGOS JUNE 24TH (URHOBOTODAY)-Former Delta State Governor, Dr Emmanuel Uduaghan has come to the assistant of the quadruplets alleged to have been seized by the management of Delta State University Teaching Hospital (DELSUTH) for inability of the parents to clear their hospital bill.
URHOBOTODAY learnt that Uduaghan on reading about the plight of the children in the media called the hospital management to confirmed the true situation of things, adding that after confirmation he sent N500, 000 to the hospital management to upset the hospital bills and upkeep of the quadruplets.
“Uduaghan gave N300, 000 to for upsetting of the medical bills and N200, 000 for the up keep of the mother of the quadruplets,” Our source revealed.
URHOBOTODAY also learnt that staff of DESULT, medical associations, churches and individual also came to the aid of the quadruplets in term of cash and kind.
Meanwhile, the Management of the Delta State Teaching Hospital, DELSUTH has denied impounding the quadruplets because of non-payment of hospital bill as being reported in some sections of the media.
Reacting to reports that the management of the hospital impounded the quadruplet due to the inability of their parents to foot their hospital bill, DELSUTH Public Relations Officer, PRO, Iteme Emmanuel described the report as false and mischievous.
Iteme stated that at no time did the hospital impound the children as being speculated but rather, staff of the hospital, medical associations, churches, individuals including the immediate past governor of the State, Dr. Emmanuel Uduaghan, have been giving donations in cash and kind to assist the family in the upkeep of their children.
He said: “The hospital with the mandate of providing basic and essential medical care to patients within and outside Delta state began treatment on the babies without any payment from the father, Mr. Ejike Anyanwu.
“Though Mr. Anyanwu claimed to have embacked on a drive to solicit for funds from the general public to be able to take care of his babies and their hospital bills, we were shocked to read on some media platforms that management of the hospital impounded the babies due to their inability to pay their hospital bills. This is utterly false and mischievous.”
