Two Men Nab for Allegedly Stealing Tubers of Yam in Delta

LAGOS MAY 10TH (URHOBOTODAY)-Two Men were arrested recently for stealing tubers of yam in Yanga market, Oleh, Isoko South local government area, Delta State.
URHOBOTODAY gathered that the two men, Kingsley Isolo and John Eharere have approached the yam seller as if they were genuine food stuff buyer, adding that as one of them was distracting the attention of the seller, the other was busy stealing the yam.

Luck however ran against them as they were caught when other prying eyes who saw them stealing the tubers of yam raised alarm. On seeing the reaction of the crowd, one of them, Kingsley took to his heels, while other ran in different direction.
Thus, there was confusion and pandemonium in the market as some men ran after them shouting thief, thief, thief….. They were later caught and brought to the scene where it had happened.
The angry mob immediately swooped into action torturing the men and inflicting numerous injuries on them. The police later arrived at the scene and took both men to the station for justice to prevail.
Speaking to URHOBOTODAY, the owner of the yam who refused to mention her names due to security reasons revealed that both men had come to her to price her yam, adding that she had refused to sell to them hence the price they had bargained did not suit her taste.
She explained that it when she was going to get more tubers of yam that she heard screams of thieves only to turn and see that it was her that had been robbed.
She said she is very happy recovering her property, stressing that she believes the police would handle the job well and put those men behind bars where they are meant to be.
The Oleh Division police had thanked the public for reacting fast to such situations. The police advised that they should always be on the lookout for one another to help reduce crime rate in Nigeria
