Suspected Cultists Kill Female Graduate of Delta State University
LAGOS OCTOBER 26TH (URHOBOTODAY)-There was pandemonium in Agbor, the administrative headquarters of Ika North Local Government Area of Delta State as a 25 -year-old girl who recently graduated from the Delta State University, Abraka, was gruesomely murdered by suspected cult boys in Agbor, Delta State.
The incident Daily Champion gathered happened at the wee hours of Thursday, October 10, when a group of suspected cultists from Delta State College of Education, Agbor, broke into the home of the aunt to the deceased who was away from town on a visit to Warri.
The victim whose name was given as Radah Emuobosan Elsie Agbaje, graduated with a second class upper degree from the department Micro-Biology, Delta State University, was on a visit to her aunt’s place who called her from Port Harcourt, Rivers State, to take care of her children while on a travel to Warri when the deceased met her untimely death on that fateful day.
Meanwhile, the parents of the deceased have called on the security agencies and human rights groups in the state to help unravel what led to the death of their daughter, who only collected her result from the Delta State-owned university.
Mother of the deceased, Mrs. Rose Dolori Ironsi, while narrating the incident to newsmen in Warri, Delta State, said the manner her child was brutally murdered left questions to be answered by her child’s roommate who she allegedly fingered to have hired the hoodlums to kill her senior child she is proud of.
Her words: “My daughter, Radah Emuobosan Elsie Agbaje was murdered on October 10, 2013, at Agbor in my younger sister’s house where she was staying by suspected student cultists from the College of Education Agbor. According to suspect (girl), Ederi Bragademo, who shares the same room with my daughter and was on the same bed with my daughter the day the incident happened, she said the incident started at about 2am that fateful night (that Wednesday/Thursday morning).
“She said they were armed robbers. She said they were two gunmen. She said they were beating them and I asked her if they were beating them with gun, she said no, that they were flogging them. She said she sustained injuries on her hand which were not visible but my daughter was stabbed all over her face. Her eyes were bartered; she was stabbed in the eye. Her jaw was sleeted; they used a weapon to barter her chest. In short, it is a scene nobody should behold.”
While accusing the deceased roommate, one Ediri Bragademo, in a bewildered mood, Mrs. Rose Ironsi stated further that: “ When I started questioning her, I discovered that her stories were not true. She was not coherent. She will say one thing now; the next minute, she is saying another thing. When I started interrogating her, she became uncomfortable and before you know it, she has spoken with her father and her father sent people to come and pick her to their place at Agbarho.
“No, it was not a robbery case. Nothing was stolen from my in-law’s house that night. Robbers don’t sit, eat comfortably. They ate that night. They sat down and took long meal. So what happened between 2-5am when a child of 8 years decided to raise alarm? What was the suspect doing in the same room when there is blood splashed all over the wall? They said they smashed her head. You need to go to Agbor. You need to see the room. The foam is soaked with blood. The foam in the wardrobe where was lying when these kids saw her was soaked with blood. What was a girl of 24 to 25 years doing when her own mate sharing the same bed with her was killed? What was she doing that is the question?
“I want justice! I want justice for a girl whose life was cut short. A germ, a girl that is everything, a girl that is all, I don’t know how to describe her. She is an angel that walked on this earth. Those who came in contact with her know who she is and that she is a girl that can never hurt a fly. She can never keep anything in her heart or go to bed with anger. She has this logic that she can never go to bed annoying somebody. I am calling on security agencies, Police, SSS, name it, to go after the killers of my daughter. The killers of my daughter are walking freely. I want the killers of my daughter, of my brilliant daughter, my eyes because they are walking out there. I want security agencies to go after them before they go and torture another soul. I want them to be found and made to face the law.”
An independent investigation on the incident revealed that the suspected murderer and the deceased had in the previous day been engaged in a domestic fight where the suspect promised to deal mercilessly with the deceased, a point the mother of the deceased collaborated.
A family source told Daily Champion that the suspect is being fingered because she has been envious of deceased performance in school. The suspect, it was gathered, is a 200 level student of English Language department and was in Agbor due to ongoing strike by members of Academic Staff Union of Universities (ASUU).
Radah, the deceased, was the only one touched and killed on that night in the home with four persons until the cult boys left.
When contacted, the Divisional Crime Officer (DCO) in-charge of Owa-Oyibu station in Ika North East, Mr. Owa O., disclosed that the police is investigating the matter. He added that investigation has revealed that there was problem between the girl (deceased) and her roommate. He said there is more to the case that the two girls were sleeping; one was murdered while the living kept sleeping without making any attempt to raise alarm.
He explained further that the girls’ sister and her husband, owners of the house where the girl was murdered and the one both of them were sleeping in the same room before the murder have been invited to come to the station on Monday, October 21 (today), for further investigation before the case will be transferred to State Police Command, Asaba.
On his part, the Delta State Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO), Mr. Lucky Uyabeme, told Daily Champion that suspect has been arrested and more investigations are still on going by men of the command at Agbor where the incident happened. The police image maker added the matter would be transfer to Asaba for further investigation.
