Support Jonathan against Boko Haram Insurgents, Onuesoke Appeals to Nigerians
LAGOS MAY 28TH (URHOBOTODAY)-As the the fight against the scourge of Islamic insurgent, Boko Haram heightens, Country Director of Network for Good Governance (N4GG) Hon. Sunny Onuesoke has called on Nigerians to back President Goodluck Jonathan in the struggle to end the scourge of Boko Haram in the country.
Onuesoke who made the call after arising from N4GG Directors meeting held in Kaduna, Kaduna State said the scourge of violence, deaths, wicked practices and atrocities being perpetrated against the Nigerian state and her people by the terrorists Boko Haram insurgents is war on humanity, adding that to win this war against terrorism, all Nigerians irrespective of religious, political or ethnic affiliations must be united under one purpose against this monster called Boko Haram.
Onuesoke who said he was disappointed with the action of the opposition who is putting the blame of Boko Haram scourge on Jonathan’s inability to perform pointed out that the President is an individual who on his own cannot stop the carnage of Boko Haram without the collective effort of Nigerians.
“Be you Christians, Muslim, Southerner, Northerner or member of opposition party, it is only our collective efforts that will stop the carnage of the insurgents. As such it would be wrong for people to blame Jonathan or asking him to stop Boko Haram insurgent without our collective efforts,” Onuesoke said.
Consequently, Onuesoke called on Nigerians to join hands with Goodluck Jonathan to smoke Boko Haram out of their hiding places among the citizens of this nation, pointing out that after all, they lived within the people and they are children of some individuals in the society.
Enjoining Nigerians not to sit down, fold their hands and feel unconcerned while Boko Haram wipe out the nation with their bombs, Onuesoke maintained that Nigerian silent is an approval of Boko Haram wickedness against the Nigerian state, which had resulted in the killing of school children in Yobe State, kidnapping of the over 200 school girls in Chibok, the twin bombings of Nyanya in Abuja and now the wanton destruction in Terminus, Jos, Nigeria, amongst several other wicked things they’ve been doing against all Nigerians since 2010. in bombing churches, Mosque, schools, markets, barracks, banks, eateries, razing down villages and rural/urban settlements with fire.
Urging Nigerians to put their religion, political or ethnic affiliations behind them and join hands with Goodluck Jonathan to deliver this nation from the impending disaster that the Boko Haram terrorists are plotting Onuesoke said, “The people they have been killing are Nigerians, which cut across religion, political, ethnic or tribal divide, hence we all must be united against this evil merchants of death called Boko Haram terrorists in our midst today. Remember, evil thrives when good people do nothing.”
