Physically Challenged Who Buries 100 Years Grandmother With Fanfare, Appeals For Assistance
LAGOS NOVEMBER 18TH (URHOBOTODAY)-Master Ogheneruemugba Goodluck Bethel, popularly known as “Obara Jesus”, a physically challenged young boy (a cripple) buried her maternal grandmother, late Mrs. Dorcas Emojirhaye Edafe nee Eko aged 100 at Unenurhie community, Evwreni Kingdom in Ughelli North LGA of Delta state with great fanfare.
The burial ceremony which was held on Saturday 17th November, 2018 drew attracted who is who in the community and other neighbouring communities. Though Obara Jesus is crippled as a result of sickness after his birth, but he is naturally talented in both Fine and Theatre Arts and does not allow his condition to weigh him down. He is a talented artist and also a good comedian.
Speaking with Urhobotoday.com during the burial ceremony, Obara Jesus who was highly elated said , “My late grand mum was so caring and generous. Whenever I visited her, she always pampered me, may be as a result of my condition. She was always available for her immediate children and all the grand children. I really miss her dearly. May her soul rest in peace!”
Obara Jesus however solicited for assistance from individuals, NGOs and the government to come to his aid especially to develop his talents to the fullest.
Hear him: “I still want to use this medium of burying my grandmother to tell good spirited Nigerians, NGOs and our government to assist me to develop my talents. I know how to draw and can also do many artistic designs. I’m also an up-coming comedian. I never looked at my condition of life to weigh me down in everything I put my hands. Whenever people gather, I always thrill them with rib-cracking jokes. I’m begging our politicians and Christian groups across the country to give me assistance. Let me thank my Oga, Mr. Osomowo who stood by me in this burial ceremony and all my invited guests. May God bless of you for being there for me,” he stated..
The late Mrs. Dorcas Emojirhaye Edafe was survived by three children and many grand children. Until her death, she was a women leader in her street and also an ardent member of the Church of God Mission Intl. Inc., Unenurhie branch.
