Orogun Monarch Honours Okowa’s Father With ‘Atanerhu’ Title

LAGOS NOVEMBER 18TH (URHOBOTODAY)-History was made as the Okpara – Uku (traditional ruler) of the ancient Urhobo Kingdom of Orogun in Ughelli North Local Government Area, Delta State, HRM Akpojotor Ekpu 1, conferred an honorary chieftaincy title of Atanerhu (one that keeps to his promises) of Orogun Kingdom on Pa Arthur Ifeanyi Okowa.
He remarked that the visit of the father of the governor of Delta State was unique, noting that it was the first time the father of a sitting governor was visiting the Okpara- Uku of Orogun’ s palace.
Chief Oghenesivwovwi in his address, also thanked Governor Okowa for the appointments of Orogun sons and daughters into Delta State government.
He then stated that Orogun Kingdom will want to be counted as one of the kingdoms in Delta State that supported Governor Okowa in 2019, promising that ” We will support a sitting governor in 2019?
He, however, appealed for more appointments of Orogun people into more viable positions in the state, upgrading of the palace of the Okpara-Uku, completion of the Arhagba/ Eboh/ Obodeti/Otorho Orogun Road project amongst other requests from governor Okowa
Similarly in his address, the Chairman of the newly inaugurated Orogun CDC Chief Daniel Agbada appealed for the provision of special purposes vehicles for the Orogun monarch and the Orogun CDC, upgrading of Orogun General Hospital facilities with a resident doctor, resurfacing of Orogun/Abbi Road, Orogun/ Agbarha Otor Road, Imodje / Orogun Road as well as the construction of Orogun Ring Road, amongst other requests from Governor Okowa.
In his response, an elated 87 years old father of the number one citizen of Delta State expressed appreciation to the traditional ruler and the entire people of Orogun Kingdom for the conferment of a chieftaincy title on him, saying that the Okowas will cherish the honour forever.
While declaring that Orogun Kingdom is the second home of the Okowas, the Atanerhu of Orogun Kingdom traced the friendship between the Okowas and Orogun Kingdom through the founder of Holy Spirit Redeemed Mission Church Arhagba Orogun, the late Prophet Moses Obarue (of blessed memory) just as he praised the resident pastor of the church, Alex Atuh and others who made the royal courtesy visit possible
Chief Okowa seized the opportunity to canvass support for his son in 2019. I plead with you people to continue to support him . And with the new CDC chairman, he will do more good things for you”
He then promised to present the requests of Orogun people to his beloved son, Governor Ifeanyi Okowa.
