Niger Delta Queen visits Okpe Monarch, Promises Better Life for Youths
LAGOS OCTOBER 12TH (URHOBOTODAY) – The most beautiful girl in the Niger Delta Area, Miss Gwendolyn Okutele, has said that vigorous campaign against cultism, the drive for peace in the Niger Delta Area, and the care for the motherless babies, will be the hallmark of her campaign as the newly crowned Beauty Queen of the Niger Delta Region.
Miss Okutele, who was speaking at the palace of the Orodje of Okpe Kingdom HRM Major General Godwin Mujakperuo (rtd), Orhue I, explained that the urge to educate the youths of the Niger Delta, the zeal to promote peace, the mind to ensure that the motherless children are taken care of has completely overwhelmed her since she won the face of the Niger Delta Beauty Pageant organized by Close Range Media Ltd at Hotel Excel, Effurun, Warri, Delta State.
She noted that as a youth and girl child herself, the reason children indulged in social vices is lost of self esteem and asserted that as long as she reigns she will use education and constant enlightenment campaign as a vehicular tools to curb the social malaise adding that parents should endeavour to send their children to school.
The 400 level student of the department of business administration at the Ekiti State University, Ado-Ekiti, maintained that in the course of her new role as an ambassador of peace and change, she will leave no stone unturned to see that her exemplary life affect the youths of the area for positive change.
An elated Orodje of Okpe expressed satisfaction with the visit of the Okpe born beauty queen.
The Orodje advised parents of Okpe extraction to ensure they send their children to school maintaining that if the youthful Miss Okutele, an Okpe girl could emerge a beauty queen today their own children could even do better.
The Orodje advised corporate organizations and well meaning people in Okpe Kingdom to sponsor the Okpe born beauty queen so as to ensure she completes all the projects she has earmarked to undertake in the course of her reign.
