Man in Trouble over Alleged Ritual Killing of Delta State University Female Student
LAGOS OCTOBER 22ND (URHOBOTODAY)-A man identified as Nnamdi Okolie has been arrested following the death of a 23-year-old undergraduate of the Delta State university. She is said to be his girlfriend.
The victim, Josephine Igbokwe, was said to have gone to visit her boyfriend in Busa community, Oshimili north LGA of Delta State when she was mysteriously hacked to death by unidentified guys.
She had passed the night with her boyfriend, Nnamdi, and on the following morning was on her way home to her parents’ house when she was allegedly attacked by suspected ritualists who removed some of her parts.
Surprisingly, sources said that the parents of the victim was not informed early enough of the incident as the boyfriend allegedly took the corpse to the state-owned mortuary claiming she was sick and died.
Confirming the incident, police public relations officer in the state, Mrs Celestina Kalu, said the police acted on a tip off when the incident was reported at the Ibusa police division and the police swung into action to confront the boyfriend who could not give details of her whereabouts.
Mrs Kalu said the boyfriend was arrested and upon interrogation, confessed that the girl was hacked to death on her way home by unidentified ritualists who removed vital parts of her body.
Police are not buying the guy’s story. He will be charged to court soon for the girl’s death.
