LAGOS JANUARY 21ST (URHOBOTODAY)-The Chairman of the recently inaugurated Governing Council of the Delta State School of Marine Technology (DESMATECH), Burutu, Barr Isah Clark led other members of the Council on a three day working visit across the three campuses of the School.

The team kick start their tour on Monday with visit to the main campus in Burutu.
The Governing Council members who were received by the Ag Provost of Delta State School of Mmarine Technology , Dr CEO Anuku at the Burutu Campus were later conducted round the school premises in order to have on the spot assessment of the school.
In his welcome speech, Dr Anuku hinted the Council on the needs of and challenges facing the school. These he said to include lack of boats for staff and students transit, infrastructures and low revenue base among others.
Barrister Clark while responding to the Provost said that he and his team were on a familiarization cum working visit of the institutions
According to him, “We are here today to have a direct assessment of what is on ground, so we can in turn put up those things that we need most at this hard times of economic meltdown before the Governor, Senator Ifeanyi Okowa.”.
“You can agree with me that there is no way that all our need can be actualized now due to the economic reality of the nation. So, there is need therefore to familiarize with you who have been on ground, see what is happening here, and also tell us more of the challenges you are having. We shall the put our heads together to pursue the S.M.A.R.T agenda of the state government”, Barr Clark added.
Among the entourage of the Governing Council Chairman were members of the DESMATECH Council who included: Dr. David Ighovojah, Dr. Alex Obuh, Mrs Roli Kpenosen and Captain Tony Onokarigho.
On the part of school management were Dr CEO Anuku, Mr H. Ofili, Mr O.S Izomoh, Engr Festus Akpule, Mr Oke Onokpite and Engr Famous Akpoyibo among others.
