I do not Regret Serving Under Uduaghan- Edoja ….Urges Deltans to Vote Credible Candidate in 2015

LAGOS, MAY 16TH(URHOBOTODAY) Former Delta State Commissioner of Special Duties Hon. Solomon Edoja who served in Dr Emmanuel Uduaghan’s government has disclosed that he did not regret serving in Uduaghan’s government, saying he got a lot of experience serving in his government.
The former commissioner however reiterated the need for the people of Delta State to enthrone trustworthy persons in governance through mobilization of the grassroots as a tool for enhancing true democratic leaders.

Edoja who made the statement in Ughelli, Delta State while convening a socio-political group under the aegis of Mass Mobilization Group (MMG) maintained, “I don’t regret serving under Governor Uduaghan. I got a lot of experiences in that exercise. I told Uduaghan to introduce one man one vote. I assisted the government with other methods to care for the masses as well as feedback mechanism through the Town Hall meeting and this has helped the people to understand government better. Let us start mobilizing our people on their roles in democratic practice. I have in the time past.” published all the projects the government said it executed in kokori town but in reality none was executed. It is a deceit and we should not continue like this,”
During the meeting, the group deliberated on backwardness of governance characterized by the imposition of candidates on the electorates particularly the political situation in Nigeria with particular reference to Delta State. It also harped on good governance as panacea to the present insecurity and instability in the country.
Edoka expressed hope that the 2015 general election would produce credible and God fearing leaders that would help to alleviate the suffering Nigerian masses and bring the dividends of democracy to the grassroots.
He stated that the political future of this country is dicey arising from leadership failure, adding that we can correct these lapses by starting political re-engineering and propagating the slogan of one man one vote as a veritable tool for the enthronement of good and credible government.
Speaking further, he said, “We need to bring together the youths that are ventilating their anger over failed leadership and give them political education and greater awareness of how to contribute positively to this country.
Edojah disclosed that some of them came out to form this association to brace the trail of unity, peace, economic growth, create employment and political awareness for all Deltans and indeed Nigerians, adding that the group would be ready to ally or support credible leader(s) for the enthronement of a true and democratic society in Nigeria.
