Fulani Herdsmen to Vacate Urhobo Community For Peace to Reign

FULANI HERDSMEN
LAGOS JULY 4TH (URHOBOTODAY)-Fulani Herdsmen and the Olomu Traditional Council in Ughelli South Local Government Area of Delta State in order to avoid clashes have agreed to vacate the Kingdom for the interim for two weeks beginning from June 25 to elapse July 9 to work out a modalities of re-entrance.
This decision was reached by the leadership of the Fulani Herdsmen led Alhaji Jibrin, Public Relations Officer and other members of the Fulani Cattle Owners Delta State at the Palace of HRM, Ovie R. L. Ogbon, Ogoni-Oghoro I, the Ohworode of Olomu Kingdom.
The herdsmen were represented by Alhaji Jibrin Haruna, Alhaji Immam Mohammed Young-Okotie, Alhaji Garba, Rearer, Alhaji Usman Suleiman,QQRearer and Alhaji Mohammed Aliyu and the Olomu Traditional Council led by HRM. Ovie R.L. Ogbon-Ogoni Oghoro I JP and of his Chiefs at the well attended meeting.
The meeting at the Palace of the revered Olomu Monarch followed criminal activities by the Fulani Herdsmen who allegedly destroy farm crops, rape Olomu women as well as intimidate farm owners from doing their legitimate farming businesses in their own farms.
HRM. Ovie Ogbon-Ogoni Oghoro I JP who was flanked by the Otota of the Kingdom , Chief .M.O.P. Ovbagbedia, Chief J.A. Ewenede JP, Secretary Olomu Traditional Council , President Generals of the various Olomu
Communities , Etotas, Iwhuvwhies and Women Council.
They warned that the Fulani Herdsmen must vacate the Kingdom for failing to properly negotiate with the Olomu Traditional Council before embarking on their grazing businesses in his domain.
“The Fulani Herdsmen should vacate Olomu Kingdom within two weeks i.e, 25/06/2016-09/07/2016.”
HRM. Ovie Ogbon-Ogoni I JP also noted that the Fulani herdsmen are free to return to Olomu Kingdom for proper negotiation if they wish to continue doing their grazing businesses in Olomu Kingdom stressing that, “ the negotiation should be led by the leader of the Cattle owners,”
