LAGOS FEBRUARY 2ND (URHOBOTODAY)-Delta State Oil Producing Area Development Commission (DESOPADEC) Commissioner representing Ughelli North and Ethiope-East local government area, Rt (Hon) Ominimini Obiuwevbi has dedicated his achievements in his mandate area to Delta State Governor, Dr Emmanuel Uduaghan.
Ominimini who made the dedication while addressing newsmen after presentation of notebooks and furniture to schools in his mandate area stated that he had several commendations from the people over his completed projects which cut across water, roads, electricity, housing, education and energy sectors, but quickly added that such commendation should go to Uduaghan.
Ominimini who affirmed that Uduaghan is finishing strong maintained that without the support and administrative in debt and qualities of the Uduaghan he would not have achieved so much said, “People have been saying I have performed very well. I have executed several projects that cut across water, roads, electricity, housing, education and energy sectors among others. They give me credit for the projects. But that credit ought not to be giving to me. It ought to go to the Governor because whether it is DESOPADEC, Urban Water Board, Ministry of Industry, Ministry of Education, Power and Energy all of this put together is part of Uduaghan’s government. What I want you to understand is that there is no community you will go to without seeing the projects of this government that has been executed and commissioned.”
Ominimini who commissioned two electricity projects and donates notebooks to pupils and teacher in shools located in Ethiope-East LGA, commended Uduaghan for motivating workers by paying their salaries and allowances as at when due, adding that Delta State workers joined their colleagues in other part of the country during strike on solidarity basis and not for the purpose on which their colleagues go on strike.
“For instance when teachers or Doctors strike in Nigeria, Delta State teachers or doctors joined them on solidarity basis not because they go on strike for the purpose on which their colleagues go on strike. The state is taking good care of workers hence it adopted the scale of payment at the federal level,” he disclosed, adding that since he came into office he had completed both abandoned and ongoing projects in his mandate area.
He stated that he has so many completed projects to commission but time is his constrain.
According to him, “I am looking for time to commission all the projects I have executed. I have my projects scattered everywhere in Ethiope-East and Ughelli North. As I am speaking to you, I am building 100 seater lecture theatres at Delta State University DELSU, Abraka. It is near completion. Also nearing completion is the community library at Abraka. There are other projects. The reactivation of Orhuerakpo water system and fencing of Orhuerakpo cottage hospital have been completed and funds completely dispensed to the contractors”.
