LAGOS FEBRUARY 3RD (URHOBOTODAY)-The lifeless body of a popular plumber in Abraka, Ethiope East Local Government Area of Delta State, Ovoke Edevwie Ogwa, who was abducted by yet-to-be-identified gunmen at Urhuovie-Abraka on January 10, 2022, has been found.

PUNCH Metro gathered that Ogwa’s decomposing corpse “with a conspicuous bullet wound” was discovered on Tuesday in the bush of Erho, one of the communities in Abraka, by residents who went fetching firewood.

Reacting to the development, Special Assistant on Youth Development to the State Governor, Tony Ajaino, described the incident as “very pathetic”.

He affirmed that he went with the police and youths to retrieve the corpse on Tuesday.

He said, “It looks like a kidnap case but there could be more to it because according to reports, those who took him away on the 10th of January, waited for him at his compound.

“They collected N500,000 as ransom on the 12th, two days after he was taken.

“He was so good at his job and well patronized. He handled all my plumbing jobs.”

It was gathered that the deceased left behind a pregnant wife and four children.

The Police Public Relations Officer for Delta State Command, DSP Bright Edafe, could not be reached for comments on the incident as of the time of filing this report.
