LAGOS MAY 18TH (URHOBOTODAY)-Information reaching URHOBOTODAY has revealed that four time governorship candidate in Delta State, Chief Great Ogboru may decide to dump Labour Party to All Progressive Congress (APC).
When accosted on the rumour, Ogboru, who lost the April 11 governorship election in Delta State to Senator Ifeanyi Okowa of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) did not deny talks between his political camp and the APC, he simply said he was still on consulting.
He only said he had not decided whether to defect to another political party or not.
While speaking to journalists during the wedding reception of Governor Adams Oshiomhole and Iara Fortes at Iyamho Estako West Local Government Area of Edo State, he said he had not decided whether to defect to another political party or not.
According to him, “This is something I read in the newspapers. There is time for everything. It is not time for that yet. You never can tell when it will happen.”
The last phrase of Ogboru’s response is very suspicious on the issue. The fish magnet may be rapping up formalities on crossing carpet to APC. Beside, attending Oshiomole’s wedding a member of opposite political is a sign that the man is already on his way to APC.
Similar event occurred when he finally crossed over from DPP to Labour Party. Then he was always seen in events with the former Governor of Ondo State, Mimiko until he finally declared for Labour Party.
Few weeks ago, following his devastating and woeful showing at the gubernatorial election in Delta state, the governorship candidate of the Labour Party in Ddelta State ordered his party members to defect to the All Progressives Congress.
Ogboru, the man in question, had to remain in Labour Party considering the fact that he is trying to overturn the victory recorded by the Peoples Democratic Party at the Tribunal.
The question that remains unanswered at this point in time is not if Ogboru will defect; rather, when will Ogboru be defecting to the APC?
