JULY 7TH (URHOBOTODAY) -As the context for the a race for Delta State Governorship seat is fast approaching, group under the aegis of National Coalition of Itsekiri Youth Movement (NCIYM) has appealed to Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) Chieftain, a business mogul and philanthropist Chief Godswill Obielum to context for the state 2015 Governorship race under the banner of PDP.
The group also appeal to people of Delta State to support him so as to become Governor of Delta State in 2015.
Arising from an enlarged meeting of Itsekiri youths held recently at the historic Nana Hall in the ancient town of Koko, Warri North LGA, Delta State, the Coordinator of the group, Comrade Tosan Oritsegbemi enjoined men and women of Delta State extraction to go out en-mass and give their full support to Chief Godswill Obielum in the forth coming Delta State 2015 governor election.
Urging them to put ethnic sentiment aside and drum support for him, Oritsegbemi said Chief Obielum who is a philanthropist and founder of Obielum Foundation is an experienced technocrat and a dependable political ally from the Ndokwa nation, the largest ethnic nationality in Delta North Senatorial District with the most formidable political structure on ground.
He said they have the strong believe that Obielum being a successful leader in business, politics and a man with impeccable character with strong finesse for success has the competence and leadership quality to build on the laudable legacy of Governor Emmanuel Uduaghan should he become Governor of Delta State in 2015.
According to him, “After a successful exploit as commander of an anti-crime squad and as ex-police commissioner, Obielum has achieved massive political relevance and came to considerable national attention in Nigeria when he returned to Delta state to contest the 2007 governorship elections. He is a philanthropist who in his quest for poverty alleviation and better life for the people of the Niger Delta region founded the Chief Godswill Obielum foundation which has touched the lives of the down trodden in the state.”
Advising the people of Delta State to rally support for Obielum, the group stressed that should Obielum who hailed from Ushie, Ndokwa LGA become Delta State Governor in 2015, he would take the state to a higher level and make it a better place for all to be proud of.
While enjoining the people of Delta State to put their ethnic differences aside and back Ubielum for the position of Delta State Governor come 2015, the Itsekiri youth leader pointed out that the National Coalition of Itsekiri Youth Movement, the parent body of all political pressure groups with progressive tendencies in Delta State has unanimously endorsed him in 2015, maintaining that they are ready to key into his project and deliver him as Governor of Delta State.
