Again, Robbers Take Lagos By Storm, Raid FESTAC Banks, Cart Away Unspecified Amount

LAGOS OCTOBER 13TH (URHOBOTODAY)-Armed robbers has striked Lagos banks again. This time they raided several banks in FESTAC town carting away unspecified amount of money ranging to millions of Naira according to information.
The robbers were reported to have stormed the banks in FESTAC Town on Tuesday mornng in Amuwo Odofin Local Government Area of Lagos State wearing military fatigue. They were reported to have raided three banks on 4th avenue in the area.

Our source revealed that the heavily armed robbers who came via the canal in speed boats blew up the security doors of Diamond, Finbank and Access banks and carted away unspecified amount of money.
It was learned that the robbers announced their presence with sporadic shootings which sent everyone in the vicinity scampering to safety. Several persons were reported have been injured in the process.
At the time of this report it cannot be ascertained if customers and staff of the affected banks were hurt during the operation. However, eyewitnesses said that the men of the underworld shot indiscriminately while they were been chased by the Police and youth in the area as they made good their escape.
It would be recalled that robbers who kidnapped the wife of the SUN Managing Director, Steve Nwosu were reported to have came through the canal and also escaped through the canal. His wife was also reported to have been dropped by the canal. This would have giving law enforcement agents the believe that this hoodlums could as well plan to raid the banks in the area using the canal hence past banks robbery at Lekki and Ikorodu this method of reverine approach were applied.
