Africa’s Largest Manufacturing Tower To Berth In Delta State


LAGOS JANUARY 16TH (URHOBOTODAY)-With the aim to promote industrialization, Delta State Government through Delta Investment Development Agency has partnered Delfrasco to house Africa’s largest Tower Manufacturing, Testing, Research, Training & Hot Dip Galvanising Facility in Issele-Uku, Aniocha North Local Government Area of Delta State.
Speaking yesterday in Isselu-Uku, Aniocha North Local Government Area of the state during the ground breaking ceremony of the project, Governor Ifeanyi Okowa said that the project would contribute positively to the industrial development of the country.

He said the earning of foreign currency would boost the socio-economic development of Nigeria.
While reiterating the commitment of Delta Government towards diversification of the economy, he said that the state was gradually becoming the industrial hub of Nigeria.
He urged stakeholders in the private sector to take advantage of measures created by the government to aid their success in the state.
Earlier during project presentation, Project Chairman, Mr. Chukwuma Henry Okolo, described the project as one of the largest in Africa.
“Till today, towers for transmitting electricity are still being tested outside Nigeria. In the past, there was extra burden on projects where electricity towers were needed due to the financial implications” he asserted.
He noted that the industrial centre would provide employment and earn revenue for the federal and state governments.
While pledging yearly scholarship for 10 students from the community, he maintained that the project would be world class training centre.
In his vote of thanks, Obi of Isselu-Uku, HRM Agbogidi Obi Nduka, appreciated the project promoters for siting the project in the community, noting that the community would take advantage of the socio- economic benefits of the project.
