2019: Okowa’ll Not Smell Delta Governorship Seat-Group

By Young Erhuirhoro
LAGOS DECEMBER 2ND (URHOBOTODAY)-Group under the aegis of Action Movement Political Forum (AMPF) has asserted that the incumbent governor of Delta state, Senator Dr. Infeanyi Okowa will not smell the Delta governorship seat come 2019 general elections.
The political forum made this assertion recently in an emergency meeting held at Unenurhie community, Evwreni Ward (08) in Ughelli North LGA of Delta state.
Speaking during the meeting which lasted several hours, the national chairman of the political forum, Comrade Fidelis Apare said,”From all indications, without doubt, Senator Infeanyi Okowa won’t smell the Delta governorship seat in the 2019 general elections. Why did I say this? I’m not just saying it as a threat but from the indices and statistics available to Deltans, Senator Okowa has performed abysmally poor with the level of financial resources available to the state treasury.
“This is not a matter of using the state radio, newspapers and television to continually sing his praises everywhere. Senator Okowa knows that he can’t make it to the government house come 2019. He should better prepare his load and quit. His time is already up. Senator Okowa has failed in all the sectors.
“ There is this insinuation by many PDP members in the state that President Buhari may use power of incumbency to over run the Delta governorship election. You see, every evil doer must surely reap his evil deeds. When power was with the PDP at the federal government, they used it to oppressed and robbed so many states of their mandates. So this is what Okowa will definitely face in the 2019 general elections.
“ He shouldn’t be afraid. In recent times, many PDP members have again started to sing their usual song, Okowa is a working governor. Since the past three years, where is Okowa? Why did he start to work a minute to go? Does he think that he can buy the people’s votes with this method of campaigning?” When asked if he and his political forum supports the candidatures of Chief Great Ogboru and Senator Ovie Omo-Agege as APC governorship and senatorial candidates respectively in Delta state, the fearless politician said, “We, in Action Movement Political Forum are not in support of any candidate in Ogboru/Omo-Agege’s faction of the Delta state APC. What these two people have done in the APC of Delta state is a betrayal of trust and a form of military gangsterism.
“ In this modern democracy, there is no way I will invite you to my table and you begin to dictate for me, the owner of the house, the quantity of food I should eat. This is what Omo-Agege and Ogboru in collaboration with Adams Oshiomole have just done to Olorogun O’tega Emerhor. They may make it through the primaries but I tell you, they can’t make it in the general elections. If they continue with this level of political rascality from now, this political forum may decide to work for another viable political party in the state. Our objective and mission as a political group is to support a party that would take over power from the power-drunk PDP.”
