Urhobo Youth Leader, Jaro Egbo Settles Rift with UPU

Urhobo Youth Leader and Delta State House of Assembly aspirant in Ughelli North Constituency, Olorogun Movudu Jaro Egbo (L) receing blessing from UPU President, Chief Joe Mene after the settlement of the rift

LAGOS NOVEMBER 17TH (URHOBOTODAY)-The issue which lead to the pronouncement of suspension of Urhobo Youth Leader and Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) House of Assembly aspirant in Ughelli North constituency, Olorogun Movudu Jaro Egbo was put to rest recently during the visit of Jaro Egbo to the caucus meeting of Executive members of UPU at Mosogar, the resident of President of UPU, Chief Joe Mene.
Although, Urhobotoday correspondent was not allowed to be part of the meeting, but Jaro Egbo on emerging from the meeting said he was in the meeting to answer call from EXCO members of UPU with the firm believe that no one can be greater than his people.
Although he did not reveal the detail discussion that took place between him and UPU EXCO during the indoor meeting, he, however, stated that he was at the meeting to listen to the admonition of UPU leadership on the way forward for the Urhobo people, adding that he was quite aware of the pivotal role played by UPU in the political evolution of the Urhobo people for over eighty years.
“I am here today to listen to the admonition of UPU leadership on the way forward for the Urhobo people,” he affirmed.
Egbo said he had also accepted the advice of UPU EXCO and pledged to channel his energy towards the overall benefit of Urhobo people, just as he pointed out that his contest for Delta State House of Assembly election is minor and personal as the overall interest of his people take precedent.
Hear him, “I will continue to work for the overall interest of our people. I also believe that if I am giving the mandate to serve in the Delta State House of Assembly, I will effectively represent our people.”
It would be recalled that Olorogun Movudu Jaro Egbo and other prominent urhobo indigenes were suspended by UPU during a press conference in Warri, Delta State over their alleged divergent views on Urhobo governorship ambition. UPU, however, stated that those who felt remorse and ready to abide by the principle of ‘Uvwiamuge Delcration’ as it affect an Urhobo governor come 2015 would be forgiven. May be Jaro Egbo had visited the Union body to rescind his decision and seek for forgiveness. Your guess is as good as that of Urhobotoday.
