Kogi Election: Activist, Okunbor Drags INEC, APC to Court, Sought Stoppage of Primaries Election
LAGOS NOVEMBER 28TH (URHOBOTODAY)-A human right activist and an Engineer Alex Okunbor has dragged Independent National Election Commission and All Progressive Congress (APC) to Federal High Court, Abuja seeking the stoppage of conduction of another Kogi State governorship election after the demise of APC Governorship governorship candidate Mr. Audu Abubakar.
Okunbor in a particular of claim in a writ declared that the order given by INEC which is the first defendant to APC which is the second defendant to conduct a fresh primary election to replace late Alhaji Prince Audu Abubakar should be declared as null and void.
“An order of court restraining the 2nd defendant from conducting fresh primaries as directed by the first defendant.
“An order deemimg the 1st order as null and void and fully incompetent,” the document stated.
The suit which was filed at the Federal High Court, Abuja, with suit number FHC/ABJ/CS/837/2015 is challenging the order given by INEC to the All Progressives Congress (APC) to substitute its candidate haven lost their standard bearer, Mr. Abubakar Audu who stood for the elections.
