Group to Honour FESTAC Police Boss, Okoro in South Africa

LAGOS NOVEMBER 6TH (URHOBOTODAY)-Group under the aegis of Security Watch Africa has pronounced that it would confer an award on Nigeria Police Area ‘E’ Commander, Mr Dan Okoro, an Assistant Commissioner of Police (ACP) in South-Africa on November 8th, 2013.
A statement signed by Patrick Agbambu and Henk Koster, International Cordinator/ Chief Executive Officer of Security Watch Africa and Chairman Panel of Judges respectively made available to Urhobotoday, the group said after tedious and meticulous assessment of Okoro’s official and personal service to West-Africa in general and Nigeria in particular, they have found it worthy to confer an award of the “Most Outstanding Police Investigator in West-Africa” on him.

“The award conferment will be at the 10th Security Watch Africa Award schedule for November 8th , 2013 at the Idaba Hotel, Conference Centre and Spa, Fourways, Johannesburg, South-Africa. It is a gladden note that this event has been hosted successfully annually since 2004 in Nigeria, Ghana, South-Africa and the Gambia respectively,” the statement said.
The statement maintained that they arrived at honouring Okoro, who is FESTAC police boss the award after a careful monitoring and study of his commitment and innovativeness in crime fighting and investigations, adding that the panel of judges agreed that he had worked tirelessly to provide security and safety for the people living in Nigeria.
It would be recalled that early this year, Okoro received Presidential award and hand shake from President Goodluck Jonathan as hard working police officer and for his role in safe guarding the lives and property of Nigerian.
