Delta Philanthropist Daniel Omoyibo Gifts Barber N5m To Establish Own Business
LAGOS JULY 6TH (URHOBOTODAY)-Nigerian businessman and philanthropist, Daniel Omoyibo, popularly known as Danmotech, has gifted a barber N5 million to establish his own business after a chance encounter during a haircut at a barbing salon.
According to the caption accompanying a video shared by Nigerian Stories on Monday, Danmotech had initially left another barber after they failed to agree on the cost of a haircut before another barber invited him to his seat and attended to him.
During their conversation, the businessman learnt that the barber, identified as Suleyman from Kogi State, worked for the owner of the salon. When asked how much he would need to establish his own barbing shop, the barber estimated between N2 million and N3 million.
Moved by his response, Danmotech announced that he would support him with N5 million.
“I’m going to give you five million for you to go and establish your own,” he said.
He added, “You said two to three million you can establish, right? God has made this five million there for you. You can rent your house, you can do your business. So thank you and God bless you.”
Danmotech also urged the barber not to fall out with his employer over the gesture, saying, “Tell your guy not to take offence. Still serve your guy this month. Tell him next month, this man don empower me, so I will establish my own.”
The businessman then requested the barber’s account details and said, “Give me your account number now, I will transfer the five million to your account and immediately you start the process, buy your equipment and look for a place.”
When asked if he knew Danmotech before the encounter, the visibly emotional barber replied, “I never know him before. This is my first time of seeing him.”
The transfer was confirmed in the video, prompting cheers from those present as the barber expressed gratitude for the unexpected gift.
Reacting after receiving the alert, another man present said, “It took the grace of God for someone to do such a thing like this. When we have people like this in this country, I think this country will move forward.”
The video has since attracted widespread attention on X, formerly Twitter, with many users praising Danmotech for empowering the young barber to become a business owner.
A user identified on X as Cold_wota wrote, “People will still not learn…. Relate with people with love and fear of God always. God can use anybody to change your life. Learn to respect your fellow human, God is always watching.”
Another user, Call_Me_Bastian, said, “And that’s how to empower someone. Don’t just give people fish, teach and show them how to fish.”
