2015: Delta North Monarchs Back Jonathan as Delta North Group Drums Support for Olejeme
LAGOS OCTOBER 13RD (URHOBOTODAY)-Ahead of the 2015 general elections, a powerful delegation of the Delta North Traditional Ruler led by the Asagba of Asaba, Obi Professor Chike Edozien has thrown its weight behind the presidential candidature of Dr. Goodluck Ebele Jonathan should he decided to contest the 2015 Presidential Elections.
An impeccable sources who attended the close door meeting informed our correspondent that the Delta North Traditional Rulers also use the forum to project the governorship candidature of four of their sons and daughters who are aspiring to govern Delta State come 2015.
Speaking with State House Correspondent after the close door meeting, the Asagba of Asaba, Obi Professor Chike Edozien said “we are here to confer with Mr. President on the state of the nation and principally the 2015 general elections and the issue of insecurity affecting our country.”
He also confirmed that the issue of which zone will produce the next governor of Delta State and the possible candidate was also discussed but we did not zero on any particular person just as a confirmed that the agitation for an Anioma person to be the next governor of Delta is a burning issue.
Question as to who he had in mind as the next governor of Delta State, the monarch said “we have many worthy sons and daughters of the Anioma extraction who if elected will be good governor judging by their pedigree and political antecedent.
Sources close to the Presidency however inform this paper that the delegation of the Delta North Traditional Rulers presented four persons as potential governorship candidate from the list of about twenty (20) persons jostling for the post.
The impeccable sources named them as Dr. Ngozi Juliet Olejeme, an accomplished Administrator and Executive Chairman of the Nigeria Social Insurance Trust Fund (NSITF), Dr. Ifeanyi Okowa, former Secretary to Delta State Government and currently Senator representing Delta North at the Senate, Rt. Hon. Victor Ochei, former Speaker, Delta State House of Assembly and Hon. Ndudi Elumelu, member, House of Representative.
Meanwhile, the leadership of the elite Delta North Political Movement (DNPM) has endorsed the governorship candidature of Dr. Ngozi Juliet Olejeme as a preferred candidate of the Delta North Senatorial District in the 2015 governorship election.
Rising from an emergency meeting held in Agbor, Ika South Local Government Council of Delta State, the leader of the Delta North Political Movement said they have taking pain to x-rayed the credentials, the pedigree, general acceptance and above all administrative acumen of all the aspirants from the Delta North Senatorial District and have discovered proudly that Dr. Ngozi Juliet Olejeme, executive chairman, Nigeria Social Insurance Trust Fund (NSITF) top the chart of general acceptance and administrative acumen while she ran side by side with four other aspirants in credentials.
In a communiqué signed by Ogbuefi Franklin Osademe and Comrade Ossai Chukwuka, President and Secretary of Delta North Political Movement respectively said their decision to carry out this study is informed by the need to reduce the rancor amongst the growing list of over twenty (20) aspirants in the Delta North Senatorial District alone.
A communiqué said, we have observed that an average of two aspirants per week are declaring intentions to contest the 2015 governorship election from our dear Delta North Senatorial District and we know that with such internal wrangling and rancor, the Delta North may loose the governorship seat again if our house is not properly put in shape.
The Movement said, having critically reviewed all the aspirants from the Delta North Senatorial District, we are proud to announce to Deltans our acceptance and presentation of a world class administrator, a tested technocrat and a diligent manager of both human and material resources, DR. NGOZI JULIET OLEJEME, Executive Chairman of the Nigeria Social Insurance Trust Fund (NSITF).
The Movement concluded that if elected the governor of Delta State come 2015, Dr. Ngozi Juliet Olejeme will use her world class contact and federal connections to attract massive developmental stride to the state of Delta to the glory of men and women.
