LAGOS AUGUST 24TH (URHOBOTODAY)-President of the Lagos Shippers Council Association, Rev. Jonathan Nicole on Tuesday advised members of Maritime Journalists Association of Nigeria (MAJAN) to be objective, constructive and creative in their reporting so as to ensure they influence in setting roles that can aid the economic somersault in Nigeria.
He called on the group to always remain focused and committed for the association to strive.
Speaking when MAJAN Executives paid him a courtesy visit in his Office at Apapa, Lagos, Nicole diagnosed the problems facing the maritime sector with a view for the government to redress their policies as to salvage the adverse situation stakeholders face in the business climate today.
He advised the government on how they would assist the Shippers Council not only on cargoes through port alone, but in the aspect of capacity building in the industry so as to empower so many aspect of the economy.
He enjoined Nigerians to go into massive farming with good preservative systems.
Hear him, “I don’t compromise and I am not a militant, but I ensure and influence an adequate atmosphere for government to reduce the cost of doing business in Nigeria”
Stressing that Nigerians should change their perception and mantra, Nicole noted, “If we try to pressurise the government on certain issues and they say no, we can go to court to seek redress.”
