Peace Keeping Operation: Three Police Officers Died During Fitness Selection Exercise
LAGOS MAY 19TH (URHOBOTODAY)-Three police officers on Thursday collapsed and died during the fitness selection exercise at the Force Headquarters, Abuja.
Over 5,000 officers and men of the force were selected for the exercise at the Louis Edet House, Force Headquarters, Abuja for screening to select officers for peacekeeping operations before the sad development.
Report had it that a Deputy Superintendent of Police, Corporal and another policeman yet to be identified were said to have collapsed and died before medical help could reach them during the physical fitness exercise while several other police officers were said to have been injured due to several other health challenges.
Consequently, the police high command has decided to suspend the exercise forthwith and put the selection process on hold till further notice.
The names of the deceased officers could not be ascertained as at press time.
