LAGOS JULY 22ND (URHOBOTODAY)The Management of Oando Plc has refuted a publication in which President Muhammadu Buhari was reported to have shown ‘surprise’ for seeing Wale Tinubu in an event organized for him by the US Chamber of Commerce and the Corporate Council of Africa.
The management called for retraction and discontinuation of the publication arguing that the information is false.
“Our attention has been drawn to a recent article published on 21st July 2015 in an online blog, “Urhobo Today”, titled “Buhari Furious over Appearance of Jim Ovia, Wale Tinubu at His Washington DC Dinner Party”. The article, which was authored by Urhobo Today, falsely stated that President Muhammadu Buhari expressed surprise at the presence of the Chief Executive Officer (“CEO”) of Oando PLC, Mr. Wale Tinubu at the event.
“Kindly note that the above statement is false, and misleading and constitutes a clear misrepresentation of the true facts which could potentially have a damaging effect on our business.
“According to the video (attached herewith), President Buhari clearly stated that he was ‘not surprised’ to see the CEO of Oando PLC, Mr. Wale Tinubu.
“Take notice that Mr. Wale Tinubu is a responsible citizen and was invited to attend the event which was organized by the U.S Chamber of Commerce and the Corporate Council on Africa,” the refutal written by Corporate Manager of Oando Plc, Alero Balogun stated
