Northern Governors and The Quest to Polute Gospel of Jesus Christ

Northern Governors

Northern Governors

By: Dr Fred Latimore Oghenesivbe.
LAGOS MAY 3RD (URHOBOTODAY)-This piece is a triangular tool for national unity, peace and progress of Nigeria, if the Presidency, leaders of our great party, the All Progressives Congress (APC) and the Northern Governors will see any wisdom in it.
For the first time in the history of this Nation, the Northern Governors are hell bent in arm twisting and coercing the free dissemination of the gospel of Jesus, which hitherto formed the bedrock of Christianity worldwide.
It sounds funny and at the same time laughable. Why on earth should any serious government see the preaching of the gospel as a major threat to disunity and progress of any nation?

It is on record that Christianity is the most peaceful religion on earth and no reasonable government would want to gamble with the FAITH of those whose collective existence are glued to the gospel.
As a Christian and as a true Nigerian, I am of the opinion that what the Northern Governors are planning amounts to ganging up against the Christian faith which has the ability to break this country in the near future.
King NEBUKEDNEZER, we are told in the scriptures, tried what the Northern governors are about to do now but ended up being feed with grass or that he actually ate grass in the forest.
I believe every word of God in the scriptures which is why I am calling on President Muhammadu Buhari to act swiftly by calling the Northern Governors to a “SAVE THE NATION” meeting to address and stop the perceived islamization of Nigeria, a move championed by the Northern Governors.
Should Mr President fail to do this, the out come of the proposed legislation in the Northern States will amount to war against the gospel and a partial infringements of relevant sections of Chapter IV of the Constitution of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, 1999 (as amended).
Further consequences is that which would flow from the anger and repression of committed and dedicated Christians who may take to the streets and disrupt government activities thereby creating another semi-agitation for the break-up of Nigeria.
It sounds too harsh but that is what may happen. The Christians in this country will never fold their hands to see the Northern Governors gradually and systematically introduce measures that would finally islamize the Nigerian Nation. Take it or leave it. The best result will be to go our separate ways. Nigeria belongs to all of us.
Without the votes of the south and Eastern parts of Nigeria, which is predominantly Christians, APC and President Buhari certainly would not have been able to win the 2015 elections. Northern Governors, please take note and repent from attempt to over display your WISDOM.
The Northern Governors have no LOCUS to regulate the preaching of the gospel of Jesus Christ. They can regulate their Sharia Laws and the preaching of the message of Islam. No more, no less!
Therefore, the solution is in the hands of President Muhammadu Buhari to call the Northern Governors to order and save our great party and nation from serious disaffection and strong agitation for the break up of Nigeria.
APC AS A NATIONAL PARTY IN GOVERNMENT.
Our party elders and stakeholders across the country should not fold their hands while the Northern Governors destroy the party through the instrumentality of region. The consequences or the outcome will be total failure for our party, the APC.
No sane party leader in a democratic system will want to loose elections. But it is becoming very obvious that the Northern Governors are hell bent that APC should not return to power in 2019. If that is their wish, so be it. But it is the duty of our party elders to wade in now to stop the anti-people legislation so as to save the fortunes of our party.
Seriously, if our party fail to stop the Northern Governors, the outcome of the 2019 elections will show whether or not Nigerians are in support of the moves to coerce the preaching of the gospel of Jesus Christ or not. But it is better to be on the safe side. Stop this retrogressive legislation NOW.
FULANI HERDSMEN.
Perhaps it will be safe to assert that if the federal government cannot checkmate the criminal activities of FULANI HERDSMEN in the South and Eastern part of Nigeria, we should temporarily place ban on the consumption of meat sourced from Cow.
It is senseless for the Fulani Herdsmen to massively kill the people who ought to be their potential customers. It is unheard of, for a businessman to kill his prospective customers.
This to me, is another way of coercing the rest of the country towards the rumoured islamization of Nigeria, a move planned and about now to be partially implemented by the Northern Governors via legislation to control, monitor and strangulate the gospel of Jesus Christ in Nigeria.
Finally, the federal government should ban consumption of beef meat sourced from Cow, recall all Fulani cattle attendants from the south and Eastern part of Nigeria (since they cannot do business peacefully and legitimately) for peace to reign and to avoid serious confrontation that may lead to another civil or tribal war in Nigeria.
The APC as a party and its national leaders including Mr President should immediately prevail on the Northern Governors to stop the attempt to control, monitor and strangulate the preaching of the gospel of Jesus Christ in the Northern part of Nigeria.
