JUST IN: Boko Haram Top Shot Arrested Hiding in Abadoned 40 Feet Container in Lagos Church

LAGOS JULY 10TH (URHOBOTODAY)-A senior member of the Boko Harram sect allegedly declared wanted by the Military has been arrested in a Lagos Church.
Also arrested with him were five other suspects picked at different spots in the state.
The suspects were arrested by a Local vigilante group (Civilian JTF)
It was gathered that the suspects identities allegedly marched those on the lists of 100 most wanted terrorists released by the military recently.

Head of the vigilante group, the Mai-Kanuribe of Lagos and the Seriki Hausawa of Ijora Kingdom, Alhaji Mustapha Mohammed, at a press conference yesterday in Ijora said five of the suspects were arrested on Friday.
He said the sixth suspect Adam, was allegedly arrested recently in a church in FESTAC town, where he was hiding.
According to him, until his arrest, Adam was allegedly hiding inside an abandoned 40 ft container inside the church.
Alhaji Mohammed identified the other five suspects as Ibrahim Ali, Abubakar Ahmed, Goigoi Kamsalem, Ibrahim Mohammed and Banagana Blam Ali.
He said while Abubakar Ahmed, Goigoi Kamsalem and Ibrahim Mohammed hail from Baga Local Government Area of Bornu, Ibrahim Ali hails from Bama Local Government and Babagana Blam Ali hails from Kanduga Local Government Areas of Bornu State.
He said Ibrahim Ali and Babagana Blam Ali were arrested in their hideouts at Isheri area of Berger tollgate.
According to him, Abubakar Ahmed, Goigoi Kamsalem and Ibrahim Mohammed were arrested in Victoria Island area of the metropolis where they were hiding in their friend’s house.
He said the suspects were looking unkempt with signs of starvation.
According to him, the suspected were being currently transported back to Bornu State where they are wanted by the military.
“Adam is one of the top most wanted Boko Haram on the wanted list of the military. We got intelligence report that Adam was hiding inside an abandoned 40ft container in church premises. It was the security man attached to the church that hid him inside the container.
“When we arrived the church premises looking for him, the security man attached to the church was not around then. The container was locked from the outside with a padlock.
“The Pastor of the Church was embarrassed to see us, but by the time we explained our mission to him, he in company with others gave us the go ahead and by the time we broke open the padlock, Adam was hiding in the far corner of the container. As soon as the Pastor sighted the suspect, he started singing praises” he added.
He said the group is determined to protect Lagos from the carnage of the Boko Haram sect.
Mohammed, who hails from Borno State, pointed out that Lagos is home to many nationalities, adding that he has invested and contributed to the development of the state since 1970 that he arrived the state.
The security expert disclosed that his group, which members are in 27 local government areas, had commenced operation in the state since 2011, adding that the sect would have succeeded in bombing some strategic installations and edifice in the state, if not for its efforts.
He said his group has resolved that the sect would not be allowed to cause havoc in the state. He revealed that several suspects arrested in the past by his group were either handed over to the Department of State Security Service (DSS), or the Police.
He disclosed that some of the suspects who are on the wanted list were transferred to Maiduguri for further investigation and prosecution.
On how the suspects were recognized to be members of the sect, the traditional leader said the arrest is usually base on intelligence report gathered by operatives who are scattered across the state.
“You know we are from Borno state where these people also hail from and we know their communities. Our people back home do monitor them, and once they leave Maiduguri, we would be alerted so that we can be on the look out.
“Once they arrive any community in Lagos, our members are always on the ground to fish them out base on intelligence report and once they are arrested, we hand them over to security agencies for further investigation and prosecution”.
He said he is personally financing the activities of the group and appealed to Governor Akinwunmi Ambode for logistics support.
