It Will Take Ten Years for Nigeria to Achieve Uninterrupted Power Supply -FG

LAGOS JULY 23RD (URHOBOTODAY)-The Minister of State for Power, Works and Housing, Mustapha Baba Shehuri has said it will take at least 10 years for Nigeria to achieve as uninterrupted power supply.
The minister, who said this yesterday at the signing of the 16 megawatts coal-powered electricity plant for Ashaka Cement Company in Gombe State, stated that the federal government has rolled-out a power road-map starting with incremental, stability and uninterrupted phase.

He said the power situation in the country was in disarray and urged consumers to be patient, as government was doing all it could to stabilise the situation.
Ashaka’ Managing Director of Ashaka Cement, Malam Rabiu A. Umar, said the N11 billion power plant when completed will stabilise the cement factory and make the firm competitive, as it will dramatically improve its operations and raise production.
He also said when the project is completed more power will be released to the national grid.
Project Director Bruno Bayat said the power plant will secure long-term reliable power supply and improve the reliability of production of the company.
