Indonesia Executes Three Nigerians By Firing Squad (PHOTOS)
LAGOS JULY 29TH (URHOBOTODAY)-Three Nigerians including Michael Titus Igweh have been executed in Indonesia despite global appeal against the harsh sentence.
They were killed by firing squad after they were convicted for trafficking drugs, according to officials of the Indonesian government.
Nigerian Bulletin reports that the three Nigerians and one Indonesian were put to death after midnight on Thursday, July 28, according to Noor Rachmad, deputy attorney general for general crimes.
The report said the official was silent on 10 others slated to be executed but were not.

While drug crimes are abhorrent and punishment is necessary. Is execution by firing squad a proportionate, necessary and justified response in this modern times. I don’t think so. There are other ways the Indonesian government could deal with and punish drug offenders. If as a people and nation we uphold standards of equity, fairness, balance and decency we should not have diplomatic relations with nations which reject such.
