LAGOS DECEMBER 1ST (URHOBOTODAY)-On 7 October 1967, Nigeria second division under the command of Murtala Mohammed and Ibrahim Taiwo ordered the whole town people of Asaba to assemble in a village square known as ‘OGBE-OSAWA’.
It was at this point that women were separated from men, then Ibrahim Taiwo now order the troop to shoot all the men and boys in the square, more than 700 boys were massacred and the girls were raped and giving out in forced marriage. Seem not satisfied, they enter the village in search of more boys, at the end the carnage, the number of boys killed are more than 1,000 boys and men it was later revealed that the action was done in retaliation to what Chukwuma Nze Ogwu did to Amadu Bello and Tafawa Balewa but the question remains whether this young boys are in any way participated in the killing of Ahmadu Bello and Tafawa Balewa?.
