Danjuma’s Call for Arrest of Tompolo, Asari, is Call for Arrest of N’Deltans-Onuesoke
LAGOS JANUARY 30TH (URHOBOTODAY)-The President General of Urhobo Nation for Okowa 2015, Chief Sunny Onuesoke has condemned in totality and earnest the call by Gen Thoephilus Danjuma for the arrest of ex-Niger-Delta militants in person of Tompolo, Asari Dokubo, Boyloaf and Kingsley Kuku among others for allegedly singing war tunes should President Goodluck Jonathan failed the forth coming Presidential election.
Condemning the utterances of the retired general recently while addressing mammoth crowd of PDP supporters and members of Urhobo Nation for Okowa 2015 at Warri, Delta State, Onuesoke described the call for the arrest of the aforementioned Niger Deltan’s personalities as a call for the arrest of the people of Niger Delta.
Onuesoke arguedt that when Danjuma and other notable Northerners have not been able to fish out and arrest those behind the activities of Boko Haram in the North, they are moving far away to the Niger Delta region calling for the arrest of ex-militants who have been peacefully executing their civil right of freedom of speech and association in according to Nigerian constitution.
He accused Danjuma for not making any statement when Boko Haram has been ravaging this government, killing and maiming Christians, burning churches and destroying assets of easterners in the north all through the instrumentality and sponsorship of bigots.
Onuesoke queried why has Danjuma not called for the arrest of notable Northerners like Isa Kaita, Adamu Ciroma, Janet Mohammed and Ango Abdullahi who have been making inciting statements ever since.
“A contestant of federal election from South-South is being stoned and chased about in four Northerners states, Danjuma and his co-travellers are not saying anything. And people don’t see why they should ask “Why”? Even if they don’t want him, why do they want to kill him? Why can’t they wait and vote him out?
Onuesoke affirmed that if he were Jonathan, people like Danjuma would have been in jail by now, stressing that Danjuma got away with the killing of Major General J.T.U. Aguiyi Ironsi whom he bragged to Newswatch Summit sometime in 1996 saying “I personally killed him”. “Now he has become so big headed that he thinks he can get away with every other impunity. People like Danjuma needed to be brought to book now before he causes more harm. The latent fanatic has already caused more than enough harm to the South,” Onuesoke said.
