LAGOS MARCH 4TH (URHOBOTODAY)- Director-General of Ochor Chris Ochor Political Group, Hon Power Anuku has debunked publications in Secret Reporters, an online medium on the Executive Director Social Services Development, on the board of the Delta State Oil Producing Areas Development Commission, (DESOPADEC), Hon Ochor Chris Ochor,
Anuku who was reacting to publications titled, “DESOPADEC Greed: Despite Millions Diverted, Executive Director Ochor Ochor Vows Aides Will Die in Penury”, published Tuesday 1, March 2016, and “24 Hours after Secret Rreporters Exposed DESOPADEC Executive Director Ochor Ochor for Diverting Cash, He Moves to Sack Aides”, published Wednesday, 2 March 2016 said in a statement made available to Urhobotoday that while there is no need to join issues with the writer, but it would be pertinent to clarify some salient issues based on the above publications.
According to him, it was an agreement by the group which includes the SA’s, that since the commission has only one space for a Special Assistant to the Executive Director, that it will be good if the salary is shared to ensure that it is not only one person among the lots that will benefit from his appointments, and this was done in good faith and was agreed by all the three SA’s involved in the sharing.
“It was not meant to short change anybody, but rather to get more people empowered. Still the highest person receives N150, 000.00 monthly and the furniture allocation was shared among the same persons with the highest getting N2.1 million”. He stated.
On the issue of the official car, it must be noted that he has not collected his personal official car till date, and the commission has not released or given out any car to the Assistants to the Executive Directors, and this can be verified from the commission.
“Why should he divert the official car of his Aide to his wife in the first place, when he had not received his own, and the wife still drives a Prado car”.
The DG while calling on media organisations to always cross check stories sent to them, called all the allegations against Hon Ochor false, especially when it comes to issues of his love for genuine empowerment of his people and followers, as he has vowed to use his office to help his people to leave a better life, and that is while he has to engage almost 50 persons, putting them directly under his pay roll, and he don’t see himself now reneging on his vow by sacking his aides because of mere allegation which is laughable, as published by Secret Reporters.
