Why I Returned To PDP- Solomon Ahwinahwi
LAGOS JULY 5TH (URHOBOTODAY)-Two-time member of the House of Representatives, Chief Hon. Solomon Ahwinahwi, has returned to the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, after a brief sojourn with the Social Democratic Party, SDP.
Chief Ahwinahwi, who was received with jubilation by PDP leaders and youth in his ward at Agbarho, said his brief adventure with the SDP was as a result of pressure from his constituents for him to return to the House of Representatives.
He noted that while he was in SDP, he still remained a PDP member at heart, as he campaigned extensively for the PDP and even gave directives and immense support to his campaign organisation and followers to work for Governor Ifeanyi Okowa in the gubernatorial election.
Ahwinahwi stated that his official return to the PDP fold was to strengthen the Party in his ward where he truly belongs and promised to always support it at all times.
He commended Okowa for appointing suitable Deltans in his cabinet so far, noting that it is a demonstration of his commitment to build a truly prosperous and stronger Delta State.
Responding, the Chairman, PDP Agbarho Ward II, Evangelist Ejowoke Ovuerhi, expressed happiness that Hon Ahwinahwi has returned to the PDP family, noting that he is one of their financial pillars.
He stressed that while Ahwinahwi was away in SDP, he still supported the PDP and contributed a lot to the victory of Governor Ifeanyi Okowa in the ward.
Present at the ceremony were PDP leaders which include the PDP Ughelli North LGA Chairman, Hon Lawrence Agbatutu, who expressed delight and promised to spread the good news of his brother’s political homecoming; Chief Godwin Akatakpo, Chief Akpos Edafevwotu, Chief Teddy Okperin and General Dominic Oneya, who prayed for the good health of Solomon Ahwinahwi. “Agbarho Kingdom agrees with you. The past is gone. Concentration should be on the future which is far brighter, he observed”.
Highpoint of the ceremony was the issuance of the PDP Membership Card to Chief Hon Solomon Ahwinahwi to the admiration of all present.
