LAGOS MAY 12TH (URHOBOTODAY)-Members of Urhobo Progress Union (UPU) Ghana Chapter has decried in strong term the kidnapped of the President of Urhobo Progress Union Youth Wing l=Leader, Comrade Igho Ovie
To facilitate the immediate release of Igho, the group in a general meeting dated 8th May, 2016, called on Delta State Governor, Dr Ifeanyi Okowa to liase with all the security networks in Delta State to strategise and ensure the release of the Urhobo youth leader, adding that the kidnap of Igho is counterproductive, barbaric and unacceptable to the Urhobo people .
A statement jointly signed by members UPU Ghana Chapter, President Chief Dr. Emmanuel Igbudu Secretary, Mr. Augustine Onojetah and Comrade David Ukueku Pubkic Relation Officer (PRO) said Igho fundamental human right to freedom has been brazenly interrupted by persons of the underworld.
“We hereby call on the Delta States Governor, His Excellency Dr. Ifeanyi Okowa to liaise with security expert to constitute and search for his rescue urgently. We urge all well-meaning Urhobos and Deltans to volunteer useful information that will lead to quick rescue of Ovie Igho..
“We want to use this opportunity to call on the relevant security agencies including the Nigeria Police Force, Department of State Security (DSS), Civil Defense corps and the Joint Task Force to expedite actions to ensure the safe release of our son without any negotiation,” the statement explained.
